Biography

A native of Spokane, Washington, Eric also lived in Nagasaki, Japan; Vancouver, Canada; and Durham, North Carolina before joining the Religion Department at Baylor as a doctoral student in 2020. Having just finished his doctoral dissertation in the summer of 2025, he now serves as a postdoctoral teaching fellow. He and his wife, Mayumi, have three children.

Academic Interests and Research

Eric recently completed his dissertation on Greco-Roman friendship in the Gospel of Luke. His academic interests include the parables of Jesus and early Christianity in the Greco-Roman world.
